More Akihabara Signage

Image
Sega is still a thing here. A couple of large stores are on  the same street.   I don't know what this shop is but the cat wants you to go in.  Top floor advertising  And Curry.

Working in Akihabara

Image
Im working in the street of Anime and electronics. The buildings are covered in manga overload. This is the view from work. There's a comic con nearby in a few days and I'm looking forward to seeing people in costume on the street.

View from the Room - Tokyo Station

Image
This is unexpected. I was thinking high rises, views of greater Tokyo, not trash and a market. This is what you get when location by a train station is the driving factor in the hotel decision.

Brisbane, Australia

Image
Brisbane's changed a bit since I was there last. Mainly there's a ferris wheel that lets you see the city from the air. While not a spectacular view it's a fun 12 minute ride and on this day, the air conditioned cars were a welcome relief from the summer heat. Below city view from the sky.  Looking up from the inside.  Opposite side of the river.  And back on solid ground.

Long Jetty

Image
Long Jetty is named for the jetty over the river. Three of them and not really that long. Walking distance from the hotel and an enticing sunset made for a good post work walk. Only a few birds out for company.      I managed to get a moon shot that worked!  And with that sunset it was time to say goodbye to the Central Coast of Australia.

Blog Detour

Image
I have photos to post but am too tired to upload them now. Instead I'm having dinner and a beer at the Holiday Inn Sydney. Only 3 nights left on this 32? Day trip. Work is done and tomorrow I go to Brisbane to visit a friend before heading home.  Oh and I am messing with log templates. It's time to learn how to create my own. Not tonight though. Cheers!

Norah Head Lighthouse

Image
With the hotel relocation there are now new places to explore. The Norah Head Lighthouse is on the central coast in Noraville. A short walk from the parking lot takes you to view points and around to the lighthouse which is only accessible with a guided tour or if you rent a cottage you can walk around it. We were separated by a fence and still had great views. It was close to sunset when we arrived.   Walking down to the beach gave another view.  Looking to the sunset that never really materialized.  And down at the beach from the first viewpoint. If you you're interested it has a nice history.  http://www.norahheadlighthouse.com.au/about-us/history/

View from the Room - The Entrance

Image
The Entrance is smaller town near work that we had to move to since our original hotel had been sold out for the upcoming weekend months in advance of our reservation block. Ibis Styles is the home for two nights and we're lucky to have it. Valentine's weekend in the resort areas is booked out. Instead of the wonderful ocean view and the sound of waves at night I get this.  A nice little community. I'd like to get out on the long jetty after work or early morning.

Beer Tree of Life

Image
I'm currently earning my stay with the nice easy days over and the rough 15 hours days in progress. Before the fun ended we made a trip out to a local industrial type micro brewery. The beer tree of life was waiting for us!
