Invisalign with Yertle - February

Happy Februray indeed! The last few weeks were Australia work load intensive and nothing going on. I'm back home and the most important to-do was see the dentist and finish up Invisalign!

End of the line items of note:

  • Tray 16 of the refinements, I felt pretty much that my teeth were done and in place. Even with that feeling, they were still moving daily.
  • Tray 17 and final, I noticed that the tooth directly opposite the troublesome #14 had shifted and when I had the tray out, my upper and lower teeth bumped together in this area.
  • On both of these trays, I went 10 days each instead of the 7, otherwise Tray 17 would have been in for about 3 weeks and I wanted to have even movement. I don't know if that would have made any difference.  This was due to my travel schedule and not being able to get to the dentist.
On Monday I went in and everything looked good. The attachments came off and the dentist did a quick file of the two teeth that were bumping together and that was solved. Then it came time to get impressions of my teeth for the permanent retainer. Best news, the office had invested in an imaging machine and the days of the purple goo were over! It's a lot easier to sit still with a scanner going over your teeth (not exactly pleasant but certainly easy) than to sit still while purple goo is taking the impression and you feel like you're going to suffocate and just want to rip it out. Once the scan is complete, it transmits immediately to Invisalign so they can create the retainers.

I'm wearing the last tray all the time until the retainer comes in. Then it's wear it all the time for 8 weeks and if all goes well, only at night from there on out till the end of my time.

Next update when the retainers come in. For now, here's Yertle.
