2017 - Year of Invisalign

Why? After 10 years of watching my lower teeth bend in and looking at a future me being annoyed at my younger self, I decided to do Invisalign. I've never needed braces and still have fairly straight teeth. I figure why wait until there's a floss and bite problem to fix it when it can be done now with minimal (hopefully) discomfort. Plus anything done today will cost less than 10 years from now. So impressions were taken, trays were ordered and now I find myself on Day 4 of a 42 week plan to straighten my teeth.
What I didn't know was that both top and lower teeth have to be done so that the teeth and your bite are not off kilter. My top teeth which I considered great are the ones getting the most tightness from the aligner. The lower aligner is hardly noticeable. I also wasn't expecting so many attachments to hold the aligners in place. I guess my teeth needed more work than I though, or at least more help since the 42 weeks in less than the projected 52 weeks.

Invisalign with Yertle - April

With Tray 8, I have officially passed the 30% mark of Invisalign treatment. I still can't figure out why my top teeth that I thought never would need treatment are the ones that have straightened out the most. The lower teeth which I thought weren't moving at all, have moved so much that at Thursday's cleaning, the dental hygienist was super excited to find new areas to scrap away at. The dentist was happy, so if they're happy then I'm good. The top tray seems to be smoother this week so I hope it's leveling off.

Invisalign with Yertle - May

Tray 10 of 21. Almost to the halfway point! The top teeth seem to be in place and the tray provides stability and prevention of movement back. The lower tray is moving the middle teeth out now to make room for the final push of the front teeth crowding. It's been a couple of easy trays and I sense that I'm about to hit a few tight ones as the intense push-out begins.
Separately, this is my favorite Yertle month yet with the navigation of the steps! Good work JM!
