Another Trip - No Time for Fun

You win some, you lose some. After the wonders of built in sightseeing that came with Belarus and Palestine, my free time in Nicaragua and now Santiago amounted to zip. The best part of Santiago was the flight in and the day to day hotel to work routine is nothing special. On top of it all, the trip here is ending sooner than expected and with that the opportunity to run around and check it out has vanished. So this is the view from the top of the hotel.

And the most colorful thing I could find on my way to work each day. Santiago's a great place, I just wasn't on the right type of trip to enjoy everything it has to offer.

First the backstory. In about a week I'll be boarding a cruise ship (this year's Cruise Trek) in Romania. When I booked the flight many months ago, I had a brilliant idea to go in a week early to Vienna and use it as a base to spend a few nights each in Albania and Bosnia. Fast forward to 6 weeks ago and the Covid restrictions, flight schedules, and hotel prices made me give up. Changing the flight to Vienna would result in penalties and possibly fare increases so I made the best of it and thought, where can I go in Austria where I've never been? Innsbruck, hmm.
