Hong Kong Airport at 5:00 am

Normally it's great when a flight ends early but not so good when it's before the airport gets going for the day. I left LA around midnight on Thursday and arrived in Hong Kong to rain and the early morning darkness of Saturday.
No one is around this early.  I'm already through transit security screening before my flight was supposed to arrive.
CX 717. That's me. 4 hours to pass the time without falling asleep.
At least the sun was starting to show up.
Best of all, an empty lounge waiting where I can find a corner seat and kick back until the next flight.

First the backstory. In about a week I'll be boarding a cruise ship (this year's Cruise Trek) in Romania. When I booked the flight many months ago, I had a brilliant idea to go in a week early to Vienna and use it as a base to spend a few nights each in Albania and Bosnia. Fast forward to 6 weeks ago and the Covid restrictions, flight schedules, and hotel prices made me give up.
