Saturday - this morning it's up again at 6:30 and we're going to Gozo. Forecast is for rough seas but the crossing is only 20 minutes so I should be safe from seasickness. The newspaper here revolves around the same topics as the US. People are worried about the economy, the Bank of Valleta is having trouble, and who is going to be the next US president. Everyone asks us about Obama vs. McCain. So far, Malta citizens are leaning for Obama.

Innsbruck - here despite it never being on my to-see list
First the backstory. In about a week I'll be boarding a cruise ship (this year's Cruise Trek) in Romania. When I booked the flight many months ago, I had a brilliant idea to go in a week early to Vienna and use it as a base to spend a few nights each in Albania and Bosnia. Fast forward to 6 weeks ago and the Covid restrictions, flight schedules, and hotel prices made me give up. Changing the flight to Vienna would result in penalties and possibly fare increases so I made the best of it and thought, where can I go in Austria where I've never been? Innsbruck, hmm. Can I get a free flight from Vienna? Yes! Can I get a free hotel room? Yes. Check! The city is picture perfect though. You, a city and a view. It's walkable and small. You've got to look up, left and right,
Stained Glass - Metropolitan Cathedral of Rio de Janeiro
Yesterday's tour included a quick stop to run inside the Metropolitan Cathedral of Rio de Janeiro and take photos of the stained glass. Glass looks best when it is sunny outside and we had sun in abundance! I need to find a camera setting that works with cathedrals. Stained glass is one of the more difficult things to photograph well.
Looks like you and Mondo are having fun. And just think, Rome is in three weeks!
