The rest of the family is doing a mileage run to New Orleans this weekend but I'm good on miles and have no need to fly until 2009. Working on the last 4 nights needed to secure SPG status for next year. Go hotel points! I hope Homer, OB & Mrs. OB are staying at a point earning hotel.

I'm going to enjoy a rainy (maybe) weekend in Carlsbad.

    I tried to post this last night in Dallas, but my post did work. I have now 62,906 points at Marriott. I think I can book two rooms for free, somewhere.

    When we took the shuttle to Windham, I saw a Marriott. I wish we could have stayed there and somehow gotten points, even though American Airlines payed for our hotel.

First the backstory. In about a week I'll be boarding a cruise ship (this year's Cruise Trek) in Romania. When I booked the flight many months ago, I had a brilliant idea to go in a week early to Vienna and use it as a base to spend a few nights each in Albania and Bosnia. Fast forward to 6 weeks ago and the Covid restrictions, flight schedules, and hotel prices made me give up.
