I'm packed as I will ever be. Online check-in is done, house is mostly clean and I'm nearly ready to go! Mentally I'm there! At this time tomorrow I'll be in London, tired, jet-lagged, and on the move to stay awake and have fun. As I type this, I realize that I haven't packed the camera cable to upload photos so quick check for that and I'll be back... 2 minutes pass... Done and checked! Now I'm ready as I'll ever be.  One more quick stop on this post as I remember a work task that I forgot to do.... 1 minute passes... And that's done. I think I need to leave the house simply to stop messing with all these little things. So London and the British Isles cruise here I come!

Of all the items on my Spring/Summer to-do list, I can check off only one. It was a biggie though, remove the palm trees that were almost taller than the house and way to close to the roof. They looked nice for a while and the last windstorm messed up the fronds so it was trim or go. I chose go.  It took 3 guys, two trucks, and a lot of effort to get those trees cut down without causing damage. I chose to leave the stumps in since the trees are dead and who knows how far under the fence those roots go? Besides, the gopher can't dig a tunnel here.  And now the corner is opened up to let the Bird of Paradise plants grow!

This weekend I created an Instagram account and realized that I will probably never use it. I've already forgotten the password. Then I realized that Snapchat was really what I wanted so I created an account and promptly forgot the password...and the reset password. Giving it one more shot with a test to see if I like it or not. It seems that sms works just as well but I guess the photo is there forever instead of forever with the illusion of temporary. I realized that with Snapchat, there's no room for error. Forget to caption and a contact is selected? Off it goes! Sorry Homer, Worf was in front of me and away he went! And then there's Wordpress. I opened up an account two or three years ago and it sits there unused. This is like cleaning up the junk drawer in the kitchen!

Under category of smack me for being dumb, I managed to cut my knuckle with a cheese grater. After 2 hours and several band aids I gave up and went to Urgent Care. They couldn't stitch it up because I'd break the stitches every time I bent my thumb so splint and super wrap it was! Oh and soaking my finger in an iodine solution? That alone will make me much more careful in the future!

All is well this 4th. The beach will slowly fill up to capacity, traffic to the fair grounds will get crazy, and fireworks will scare dogs and cats. These are all indicators that life is good in Carlsbad and people are enjoying themselves. I hope you have a great holiday weekend where ever you find yourself today!
