It seems only right that on April 1, all of today's topics should be about SF fandom activities. For me, these are of the utmost importance but for the rest of the world, not so much so.

First up - LOTR fans. "Ringers," the movie about LOTR fandom is making it's West Coast debut at the Newport Beach Film Festival on April 23rd. Tickets go on sale sometime today at www.newportbeachfilmfest.com. Tickets are $15 and it will probably sell out today.

Next - "Sin City" opens today. Elijah Wood is in it, hence the LOTR connection. It is also a comic-style crime thriller, adapted from the graphic novel of the same name. This will appeal mainly to fans and probably anyone who loves "Pulp Fiction." Quentin Tarantino even directed a small segment of the movie.

And of course - Star Wars goodness. Fan lineups have already started in NYC and as of tomorrow - Los Angeles. This is an organized lineup that is also raising money for the Starlight-Starbright Children's Foundation. More info can be found at www.theforce.net. Also for collectors, all the SW action figures and toys go on sale today and we are now only 48 days away from the opening of ROTS.

That about covers it for now. Enjoy the day!
