One of the on-going events in Nashville was baseball fever. We were all trying to sneak off and watch the games whenever possible. Most of us were cheering for the Red Sox so that made for team unity. More about baseball later.

Tuesday night's event was dinner at the Country Music Hall of Fame. It was set up so we could tour the exhibits and then have dinner. It started out well enough, glass of wine, look at the carss with rifles on them, listen to some music and then go back downstairs for more wine. I thought that was it for the evening but there was a surprise. Our group was getting a private concert that night with Kim Carnes and her fellow musicians. (Bette Davis Eyes in case you don't remember)

It was fantastic! There were different performers throughout the evening and we were in a small venue so it was close-up and really fun! The band played over the time limit and then we all received a CD to remember the evening. I went in a skeptic and came out amazed at how talented the group was. We even had a chance to meet Kim afterwards but remember - baseball fever. 5 of us left to watch the game at our hotel.

Well we were too late to fit into the small bar so we took the elevator downstairs and went into the bar at Ruth's Chris. Only a handfull of people were there but it was famous people night. We sat next to Chris Berman of ESPN fame so we had our own professional commentator. Actually he was pretty silent and our group was pretty loud. There was a side show of entertainment going on with the band members of "3 Doors Down." They were in to perform and they also had baseball fever. The upside for us was that the bar stayed open late so we could keep drinking and watch the game to the very end. Of course once everyone famous left the bartender kicked us out but all in all, it was a great night!
