Another Petco Park outing! Thanks to friends, I had two tickets to last night's Padres/
Astros match-up. Homer and I went and thought we'd be all on-time and check out the game. We caught a green line trolley at Old Town and zipped right on down to the ballpark. It turns out that we were too early, the gates don't open until 5:30 pm. At least we were first in line.
Since we had so much free time, we explored the stadium with the intent to find good food and beer. Stone Pale Ale - check. Rubios - check. We even had tables to eat at with views of the bridge. Up a level - Gorden Biersch Garlic Fries and Marzen Beer - check. Oggi's microbrew differnt types - check.
The Padres went into the game in first place with the Dodgers trailing by a game. The Pads had also beat the Astros 2 in a row, but the Astros fought back in game 3. In the first inning, the score was 3-0, Astros. It just sort of continued on that way throughout the game with the Padres making some inept and strangely compelling bad plays. Final score 5-1, Astros.
The Padres go into tonight's game tied with the Dodgers and SF trailing right behind. Go Padres! Hang in there!
