Mexico City. This can go in the category as be careful what you wish for. I'd always wanted to see this city simply because I've been so many other places in Mexico. Well I've been here a couple hours and I've seen it. 28 more hours to go! Updated: The Starbucks in the lobby cheered me up for a few minutes until I realized my sandwich bordered on not quite cold. Given that I'm in Mexico, I'm not willing to risk my stomach to any questionable food so I ate part of the bread and tossed out the turkey and cheese. In Mexico, it's best to be hungry rather than sick. Bummer because I am hungry.

Stained Glass - Metropolitan Cathedral of Rio de Janeiro
Yesterday's tour included a quick stop to run inside the Metropolitan Cathedral of Rio de Janeiro and take photos of the stained glass. Glass looks best when it is sunny outside and we had sun in abundance! I need to find a camera setting that works with cathedrals. Stained glass is one of the more difficult things to photograph well.
Innsbruck - here despite it never being on my to-see list
First the backstory. In about a week I'll be boarding a cruise ship (this year's Cruise Trek) in Romania. When I booked the flight many months ago, I had a brilliant idea to go in a week early to Vienna and use it as a base to spend a few nights each in Albania and Bosnia. Fast forward to 6 weeks ago and the Covid restrictions, flight schedules, and hotel prices made me give up. Changing the flight to Vienna would result in penalties and possibly fare increases so I made the best of it and thought, where can I go in Austria where I've never been? Innsbruck, hmm. Can I get a free flight from Vienna? Yes! Can I get a free hotel room? Yes. Check! The city is picture perfect though. Nestled in a valley between two mountain ranges, it's green, colorful, and everything you could want a place to be when the purpose is total work decompression. No major sightseeing, no expectations. You, a city and a view. It's walkable and small. You've got to look up, left and right,
While I was in Mexico I ate almost anything and was never hungry. I think the McDonalds meal back in the US made my stomach feel the worst.
